Weekly Message 5/22/2016

Good Evening Parents and Students.  This is Mrs. Amy Jones with your weekly message.

On Monday, Goshen Medical will be at CSS to offer sports physicals for $5.00.  These physicals are available to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders and will be good for one calendar year.  We have some spots available for students who did not return their paperwork last week.  If you are interested, a parent must come to CSS on Monday morning before 9:00am to fill out the paperwork and to pay the $5.00 fee.

This week begins our EOG testing cycle.  On Friday, May 27th, 3rd grade students will take their reading EOG and 5th – 8th graders will take their science exams.  Parents, it is very important that students get a good night’s rest on Thursday night so that they will be ready for these tests.  Also, if your child does not eat breakfast at school, please make sure he/she eats breakfast at home on Friday morning.  We have been hard at work preparing for these tests and we want students to be able to do their very best.

Calling all Dads.  We would like for our dads to help us cheer on our students on the first day of testing.  Bring your foam fingers and your number one signs.  Dads who are participating need to meet at the front entrance of the school at 7:20 on Friday, May 27 to cheer on our students.

Testing continues for the next two weeks.  All testing dates are posted on the online calendar on the school’s website at cssk8.wordpress.com.

Our end of year events are also listed on the calendar.  Middle School Awards day is Monday, June 6th at 1:00.  Elementary Awards Day is Thursday, June 9th.  1st and 2nd grades will hold their Awards Day at 8:30 and Kindergarten will hold theirs at 10:00.  This is a change from the original schedule.  5th grade will hold their Awards Day at 1:00.  8th grade promotion is scheduled for June 10th at 9:00.  We hope you will be able to join us for our end of year events.

We still have a few yearbooks available for sale.  Please contact the school office if you are interested in purchasing a yearbook.

I hope everybody has a wonderful week and Go Cougars!
